WHO IS AUSTIN WALKER?

• Drive north of Dallas, Tx for about 40 minutes until the tollway ends and you'll find where I'm from. I was born and raised in a small town called Prosper, Tx.

• I knew from kindergarten I wanted to be a storyteller. I remember sitting on the couch on Saturday mornings watching the news with my dad before the cartoons started.

• Today, when there isn't a camera in my hand or an IFB in my ear you can find me with a good cup of coffee or at a live music show. 

WHERE AFTER PROSPER?

• I graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism with an emphasis in Radio/TV anchoring and reporting. While in Columbia, I worked at KOMU 8 - TV, the NBC affiliate for mid-Missouri. I reported three to four times a week and anchored 5 and 10pm newscasts on the weekend.

• During my time at KOMU 8, I became the lead reporter for "A Brighter Tomorrow," KOMU's mental health initiative.

• At Mizzou, I had to honor of being Truman the Tiger, the University of Missouri Mascot.

AFTER GRADUATION:

• After my time at Mizzou, I landed a job in Tucson, Arizona as a general assignment reporter. The city of sunsets and cacti taught me a lot about myself -- Mainly about what I am truly passionate about. 

MY GOAL:

• Happiness. Telling powerful and impactful stories; Informing people -- Does just that.
